What I Have Learned in Quality

  • You can never have 100% confidence that a product is defect-free
  • Humans are 70% accurate on good days
  • An employee in quality must understand that they will upset some leaders to ensure defects don’t ship. They must be willing to bear this burden.
  • Quality is not only responsible for defect prevention but they are responsible for maintaining business processes
  • Quality is not a person it is a documented process
  • Quality is not a defect check, it is a process with many checks and balances
