I understand that we are all different but until recently I did not realize how different I am. I had a friend point this out to me a few weeks ago. I have an obsessive drive to learn about do certain certain topics that interest me. Here are the things so far: Fishing when I was in HS Bodybuilding and body improvement from about 2002-2007 General personal development 2007-2013 Cooking 2013-2014 Hunting currently When I get into a subject I read all I can about it and find ways to…read more
The other day I did a presentation at work about goal setting and I figured it would be helpful to share it here. I have have been goal setting for about 7 years and I have tried many techniques. Over the 7 years I have found what works for me from bits and pieces of many different programs. Like weight loss programs, many goal setting programs will work but you need to find what works for you. Some goal setting programs tell you to look into the future and ask:…read more
A while back my aunt gave me some lard and it has sat in the fridge until recently. We have started using some of it to make biscuits. I know, lard biscuits sound awesome. First of all, don’t get all caught up about eating lard. It is better for you than that trans fat stuff and it is okay in moderation. I love Alton Brown’s podcast (I wish he would make more) and he always talks about making biscuits so I decided to use his recipe. I just used…read more
This is the proper way to open champagne without shooting the cork and spraying it everywhere.
I am pretty pumped that I can do this. It was a bit intimidating going back on my hands the first time.
This one took me a bit to figure out until I found some videos inline which showed the person contorting their body to complete the pushup. If not then you will be unable to balance well. Though, I realize I still need to work on my form.
http://intentionalsuperhero.com/ Don’t be like me, I did not realize that I was kipping my knees to make the move easier. Also, this angle makes it more obvious that I am going bald.
This is when it gets exciting. When you get to this step you start to see what the full stand to stand bridge is going to be like.
This is the full back bridge. This one is great for stretching your back and helping with digestion.
As often as I wear that Dr. Pepper Shirt in my videos you would think I am advertising. Actually, it was a free shirt and I always use free shirts for exercising. The one leg squat is the last step in the Convict Conditioning workout. I have always been good at squats and this is harder than squating with a bunch of weight on my back. Give it a shot to help you grow your legs.
Have you ever been upset with someone or thought they were upset with you? Maybe you didn’t actually get in a fight, but maybe things were said that hurt your feelings or vice verse. Now you two avoid each other because you think they are mad, but this hurts you and all the time you wish you could fix this. Why don’t we share our emotions more especially, when we are in a disagreement with others? I have been considering this lately because there is a something I wish I…read more
This is another post related to my observations at the Pearl Jam concert. This is about how rules work. We lined up in front of the venue and soon after someone from security told us we needed to go to the front of the line and get a number before we we could go in. When I went up to get my number, the guy at the beginning of the line was holding a notebook and said we are “supposed to sign” and write our number on our hand with…read more
This post has been really complete because I was not sure how to sum it up. I have decided that I want to use this post to describe my impression of a bullying situation. I love it when I get a chance to experience different situations because it helps me to better understand the world. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I went to a Pearl Jam concert a few weeks ago and I experienced some interesting things besides the concert. I am not a fighter what-so-ever,…read more
This one is super difficult for me. It is the half one arm push-up. The basketball keeps me from going too low and the Frisbee helps keep the ball from rolling.
This is the Head Bridge from the convict conditioning workout program. This one tends to make lose my balance a bit when using the ball.
This is my first post in the ” I am going to write whatever the heck I want” series. I really like writing since it helps me to flesh out thoughts and identify inconsistencies in my thought processes. This happens a lot when I am considering my belief system. This time it is not an inconsistency but more considering what I believe and and what I should think about it. Let me elaborate. Lately I am considering the state of our society and government. I am not happy where it…read more
