“I hate my job” Creates Road Rage

Have you ever gotten angry while driving? Was it on the way to work? I have.

While driving to work every day I notice people cutting in and out of traffic, speeding up just to hit the breaks again. Everybody is in a hurry.

Why don’t these people leave for work a little earlier? Could it be that they don’t want to go to work since they hate their job?

Think about the viscous cycle; they don’t like going to work so they leave as late as they can. They get stresses going to work which makes them more stressed at work which makes them hate it more. Rinse and repeat.

If you you are reading this, there is a good chance that you are looking for work you enjoy or you already enjoy your work. Be a good example to those around you so they will follow your lead and make the roads a safer place (so I do not feel like throwing a tire iron at an idiot driver).

  1. Great points Josh. Or better yet, create a job where you can work from home. There is less and less of a need today in the Information Age to drive to a building somewhere to work when you could accomplish the same thing (and be happier/less stressed) from your PC at home.

    1. Too many people are afraid to ask for this and “sell” it to their management. They are stuck in old world thinking “I have to be at work to be working”
